The Christening of "The Main Thing"

by FHS Principal, Dr. Brabrand

To Dr. Brabrand, our esteemed school principal for whom we have dedicated our new shell. It should be made clear that such an honor is not bestowed upon just anybody. Dr. Brabrand’s commitment to FHS, to academic and athletic excellence, to our student-athlete’s success both in the classroom and beyond, is a level of commitment we should all strive to emulate. Dr. Brabrand and his lovely family were gracious enough to join us today, and for that I know I speak for all of us in saying we are honored and thankful. I firmly believe that much our success thus far is due in large part to his guidance and the passion that he brings to his job. It was truly an honor for me to meet him, his wife, and his charming twin boys.

A Moment In History

Our First Trophy

The Ted Phoenix Regatta is the last regional regatta before the state competition.  It is also the only regatta where trophies and plaques are presented to first place winners in six events because it is the culmination of the season before the state competition.  The winning schools are allowed to house the trophies for one year.  A plaque is given to the school as a permanent award.

In 2009 Fairfax Crew came in first place in the third event at the Ted Phoenix Regatta.  This is the first year in Fairfax Crew’s eleven year history in which we came in first place at the Ted Phoenix Regatta.
