September 10, 2025 at 3:15pm at the erg shed (behind the field house)

Parent informational meeting (highly encouraged):

September 16, 2025 at 6:30 in the Fairfax library

Prepare for free learn to row sessions

Learn to Row days, also known as Green Days, are free rowing sessions where students learn how to row and can experience the sport. To participate in Learn to Row days, the following forms are due on or before September 18, 2025:

1. Rower Information Form (opens August 15, 2025, requires student and parent signatures)
2. Athletics Physical Form (submit to athletic trainers in-person or via email @ aejohnston@fcps.edu)

3. Fairfax High School Athletic Registration (complete online; for any questions or issues, email Mrs. Spelman at vlspelman@fcps.edu)

4. Emergency Contact Information Form (submit a printed form to Coach Gwen)

Complete no-stress swim test

The first swim test will be held on September 18, 2025 (time and location TBD).

The requirements to pass are outlined in the swim test form. If you cannot take the swim test on this date, you must wear a life jacket while on the water until you pass the swim test.

Attend free learn to row sessions

Learn to Row sessions will be held on a selection of dates between September 20, 2025 and October 11, 2025 at Sandy Run Regional Park. All of the dates and times for the Learn to Row sessions are posted on the Team Calendar.

Complete registration

Ready to join the team? Once you have submitted all of the above forms, fill out the Fairfax Crew Team Agreement (form opens August 15, 2025 and requires student and parent signatures) and you're officially a rower!

As a member of Fairfax Crew, you'll have to pay dues. Scholarships and alternative payment plans are available. For more information about dues, click here.
